Formula Ford-1600 International German Championship 1989

Car Details:
Chassis: Van Diemen (England)
Engine: Ford Kent Series 4 Zylinder in row; 1,600ccm; 115 HP (build for racing by Zach Motorsports in Köln Gemany).
Tires: Intermediate slicks.
Formula Ford cars weigh 410/420 kg (1000 lb), so their engines, which typically develop about 140/115 hp, are capable of propelling them from 0–100 km/h in less than five seconds, reaching top speeds of nearly 235/220 km/h (150/140 mph). The engine is usually a stressed member of the chassis, as in larger and more advanced Formula cars.

Results: Considering that I had no crew to race all 12 races of the season and no prior experience on any track, my top results were promising.
Best Result in a race (out of ~30 participants each race): 7th; 4th in time practice.
